Hi all - does anyone have this bag? I have a very good price on it (thanks to you know who), but want to check if the camera will actually fit in it.

I've checked the D70 Bag resource (http://www.asvd07.dsl.pipex.com/d70bags.htm), but they only have pics of the bag itself, without camera.

What I'm after is pretty much a 'bum bag' that'll work as a general bag for walks, etc. (Without having to take all the gear) Just want to take the camera with kit lens, maybe the flash and have an external holder for the zoom.

Cant help sorry but yeh i think i am going to have to resurect a bag here as i dont think my 80-400VR in the lowpro bag i got, so looks like i will have to fix straps and take all my Yashica gear out and use that.

If you wanted to go absolute minimalist, try the Toploaders. They're very compact and unobtrusive for hikes and walking, but you won't likely have a place for a flash or anything else.

Toploader is a no no! I have one and now rarely use.
only one lens and ond body attached.

possibly a harness system would be the way to go that way you can have a top loader. then just have lense cases and say a lowepro point shoot bag which is slip lock compatable and you have all your lenses and misc stuff in the PS bag and you can customise the system from min to max depending what you want to do. i know alot of trekkers climbers etc use this as they already have a large pack and want access to their gear without dismantling a pack system it's also light and minimal body contact means cooler

A bit off the track - Lowepro make fine bags, I have two but - If you can't get the D70 etc into the Lowepro you have lined up (shame) I can recommend the 'Crumpler' "Budgiesmuggler" model. It might suit your hiking, adventuring style of portage and fits the D 70 with kit lens attached and a 70 - 300 telephoto as well with pocket room for instruction book, filters etc. You may even fit a small portable hard drive in there too. - just my 20 cents worth.

I have this one. It is great as a bum-bag with a 70-300 and a water bottle in the pouches. I also got a larger pouch to fir the Sigma 12-24. I fit the D70 with 24-120 VR inside easily. Add a couple of bananananas in the front and you're all go.

The waist straps will slip out of the way under the padded back piece and there is a detachable strap to use it as a shoulder bag. Also has adjustable loops on the bottom to hold a monopod or small tripod.

I have the sideline shooter which is a bit smaller and I could fit the D70 vertical w/ kit lens attached as well as 70-300, and a small (Not sb800) flash, few filters, etc...

On a side note. I love the names Crumpler comes up with!!!! Budgiesmuggler???

Crumpler or Budgiesmuggler is another style of traveller bag, it's convenient in some way but not exactly what the photogs wants, the bottom ends take the D70 but won't take other camera body with L bracket + lenses + lenses + lens + flash etc....It's very restricted to access your gear at the bottom end once you top up the upper compartment.
ITOH, Lowepro mini or microtrekker open in full and let you find your stuff easy.
The Toploader is for difference use, it for only with the zoom lens attached to the camera and use as it during your hiking, climbing trip and can't take other lenses. You may have carry your backpack to ferry all your needed gear.
