Slightly-OT: Old eye-feast new on DVD

I spotted (and promptly bought) Wim Wenders' 1987 masterpiece "Wings of Desire" (orig. "Der Himmel über Berlin") the other day. What a catch! And what a rediscovery. I first watched it when it was released and never since...

This movie is full of stunning camera work, with lots of magnificent images to drool over. The movie is mostly in German (with some English and French strewn in), but even if you have to make do with the subtitles you'll find this a beautiful work of art.

I got it for under 30 bucks at Borders. Chances are you'll find it cheaper someplace. It's a steal eitherway, since the movie is priceless!

Just had to share this.

Cheers
Steffen.

Brilliant - then the Americans did their usual and made a masterpiece into commercial crap with ’City of Angels’
