Hello,

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a 2nd part to a lens reversal adapter which converts camera mount bayonet to filter so you can protect the rear element/workings of your lens and use filters etc? I was just thinking that this would be mildly useful and would fit all lenses, seeing as it uses the camera mount.

If you are using the Nikon F mount you should try to find a BR-3 adapter. It will convert the mount on your lens into a 52mm filter thread. I'm looking for a BR-3 myself, so if anyone has a good source let me know :).

I'm not sure if other brands have a similar adapter. If you are stuck you could try cutting up a lens mount cap and attaching it to a step up ring or similar to provide a home brew solution.

Cheers, so it does exist, and yes I am using the F Mount - so the BR-3 is for me.

Your home brew idea got me thinking of people who use door peepholes to make crude a fisheye - you could attach one to like 3 or 4 notches of flexible hose and make a crude fisheye lensbaby. I'd like to know the dodgiest home optics people have seen/used/made.

I don't do Paypal so it makes eBay a little tricky at times.. Usually when I ask a store about the BR-3 they are surprised that they have it on their books and figure it will take a couple of months to arrive (if ever). I'll give Vanbar a go tho', thanks!

I wouldnt call them very dodgy, but the primary mirrors in both these:

are home made ;)
