i help out with a band photography company, and they usually charge around 40 bucks for all the pics they took of the band in full resolution on cd, and they usually take a lot of photos. so depending on the amount of photos and the quality i think around 40 bucks should do it.

$40 seems low but I guess you have to allow for the fact that if they are up and coming musos they are probably broke

I would be charging more than $40 per disc full of images.
I think about $50 per image, including a release to use the images for a set period, or sell them the copyright with the image. Use a pro-forma contract to set this in stone.
Having said all that, pick your mark. You don't want to price yourself out of the market and end up with NO mullah.
Good luck. Be interested to hear how you go.
Cheers!

As a comparison I do a bit of car rallying and some photogs charge 75$ per image downloaded off their site (high res), and another charged $5 for a CD of 25 images (I sent him $10 plus a word to put his price up)
Band stuff I would think would be similar, if you've got good shots charge good prices ! Most people love a momento and if your shots are better than average P+S stuff, they should pay a decent amount per image.

just make sure u dont sign over the copyright. if they ever make it in the future, those old photos will make more money the second time round

My 2 bobs worth, i sell full res dig file for $40 a file and discount on multiple files. You still have to do the same work on as if you was printing it so it just gives them the right to print as many as they like and i always copyright them.
