Matt,
You always seem to capture something different from the run-of-the mill.
You can learn everything about photography but it counts for nothing if you haven't got the eye.
Well done.

That's my little girl and be assured, she is FULL of expression...

Great photos Matt... I have similar shots of my daughter that don't come close to yours... I have a lot to learn...

She is beautiful and she has attitude. That's always a good thing. The only difference betwen your shots and mine is probably the lenses we had on our cameras. I was fortunate enough to have the 80-200 and it was suited to the distance. I will give you copies of the full files if you email me.

Nice work Matt.

I especially like the Plover pics where it's washing.

I also like the way you do candid portraits. Gives me something to aspire to.

Thanks for sharing your day with us. :)

It's great to review images from others of the event. Re-live it through another's eyes. Great cross section of captures. :)

Matt

The shot of skippy ("a new lens") is a great candid as is the one of birddog jr.

The Spur Winged Plover. Great detail, especially given the bird's name (I think the 2nd of the three is best as there's a stronger sense of action)

Woman washing. It's never occurred to me to take shots like this and I love the way you've done it. Terrific.

Finally, a chance to put faces to the names. Pity I couldn't make it to the meet.

I really like the candid shots of Matt's kid as well as the Bird-In-Water (no pun intended). And of couse, Nikon slinger Birddog.

Great pics Matt, you have a great eye for a shot. And your technique is none too shabby either, very impressive.

IMO the first shot of you Gary is the best of the whole bunch.

Captures the moment very well indeed in tough lighting.

See, this is why I like the camera to be pointed at other people...
