Well I picked up my new D80 and 80-400mm VR but now I am looking for a good bag to carry it in! Any body got any recommendations? Waterproof would be ideal!
Cheers

Prefferably a backpack! I will be using it for Nature and landscape photography mainly with the odd speedway shots! I like hiking aswell so must be WP...

I have a crumpler backpack that I dont use, its a laptop / camera combo, small size, nice fit for a D80, long zoom, 2-3 other lenses, and a flash....
i might off load it, think it was about $250 new, May this year.

The slingshot 200 fits in my D70 with the 80-400 attached (tight fit) and extra stuff. Cool bag and very practical for hiking etc. Worth checking out. Lots of guys in the forum now have this bag.

Most popular bag here was the Mini-Trekker AW and Compu-Trekker AW from lowepro... they now turned out another popular one for the Slingshot 200AW...
Take a look a few months back... from one of our meets:
The lowepro bags gallore
Got to take a careful look before you snap a bag with goodies filled D2X/70-200VR or D70/kit lens inside

Spoke to soon
I have a Lowepro AW computreker
Pros:
Laptop + Pro body + all kinds of toys
JUST fits into airliner carry on
Good harness
Excellent tripod attach points
Cons:
Very heavy when full (and who doesnt fill a bag!)
Looks like an expensive camera bag=target for security etc (as against the crumpler bags which are great "stealth bags")

I got a Computrekker AW Plus. Its definitely on the big side but I like it that way. I read reports about the non-Plus version having an uncomfortable 'belly' strap...

I have the minitrekker AW and it is a pearler of a bag. It can carry some serious gear, you can wear it all day without feeling it plus the waterproofing is pretty neat.

I also have the Computrekker AW Plus, yes it is big but it fits all my crap with room to spare, and i have done all day treks with this bag, just slip your camebak bladder in the front zip pocket and off you go.

I'm a bag junkie
I had a micro trekker. I now have a Nova 4, a Mini Trekker AW, a Computrekker AW and a Slingshot 200 AW
The one that USED to be most used was the mini trekker. Now I use the Slingshot 90% of the time. It holds D2x with 28-70 attached, 10.5 FE, 12-24, spare battery, cards, 2 filters, sunscreen and either a water bladder or an SB800 and spare batteries. Onlt ime I consider either of the orhte trekker bags is if I need to take the 70-200
Get the Slingshot 200 AW - brilliant bag, easy to use.

Hey all thanks for the comments! And info!
Just got back from Freo and picked up a CompuDayPak (lowepro) Got most of the features I need, not waterproof but water resistant! Gonna pay over $450 for a waterproof one!!!
It is able to carry my 17" widescreen laptop along with camera gear and weighs in at 7kg loaded up, that is until I add water bladder and other stuff! Hope fully it will do the job!
Thanks again for the info!
