Digital media Festival conference

I went along to the above conference on Tuesday...$240 compliments of work. A number of industry experts and academics gave presentations on everything from advanced digital camera to digital asset management and beyond Photoshop. After sitting in the lecture room all day I came to the conclusion that this forum is a much richer source of information and the 'industry experts' are having trouble keeping up with us. There is no doubt in my mind that the collective knowledge displayed here is 'cutting edge' and we are defining the revolution of photography from analog to digital. Keep up the good work ladies and gentlemen! Your posts are valuable to us all.

Perhaps we should start charging the "industry experts" to read the forum ??

I certainly agree with your comments though Matt.
Even if the good nature of everyone associated with this forum wasn't as strong as it is, I'd still hang around for the knowledge that pours through these web pages every single day !

Great news to hear Matt!!

Perhaps our next step is to make ourself knowledgable and recognised by the photographic society officially?? If that has not happened yet... :)

I almost went to that for the animation side of things, but wondered whether I'd actually learn anything or just fall asleep.

Very astute observation, Matt.

I often wonder whether "industries" are generally lead by people who don't actually have an interest in solving problems, but rather in keeping the wheels turning and the money flowing. I know this is true for my industry (IT security).

Reminds me of that famous demotivator poster:

Cheers
Steffen.
