Kit Lens Autofocus Issue @ 18mm

I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. Its not too much of a problem but can be a touch annoying when it happens.

Scenario is; I set focal length to 18mm and autofocus to a subject in the distance which sets the focus to infinity. This results in the camera not locking focus and hence the shutter won't fire.

It only happens at 18mm, if I bring the focal length in a fraction the problem goes away.

Proudly using cardboard camera, lens lust is cheap... buy more bog rolls!!!
