The importance of scaleI'm working my way through my NZ pics and came across the following two shots which I think nicely illustrate the importance of scale in your shots. Take your time looking at the first image, then scroll down and look at the nearly identical second image.

What the ?? Even when looking closely the first looked like my Mum's tree fern forest, the second... looks like something from prehistoric times, they are huge! Bloody Huge!
That is the type of things one can easily forget (among many others for me ). Very good illustration, I was surprised by the size of these ferns when I scrolled down to the second image.Your first pictures look very promising.
Cheers, Gerard
wow. an important element. Sometimes we might wait for the path to clear, but in this case, the person adds AWESOME depth and magnitude to the image.
Scale is a challenge I have with Kite Surfing shots at the moment, getting the horizon, or water in with the air shots. thanks for sharing
Of course if you missed the person in the first shot, you could always photoshop one in.
Nice shot Peter, and nice ones on the other posts too. Cheers John D3, D300, 14-24/2.8, 24-70/2.8, 85/1.4, 80-400VR, 18-200VR, 105/2.8 VR macro, Sigma 150/2.8 macro

I guess you could, but for me that would be stretching the PP a little TOO far. And the dilemma would be what size to make the person since in a real sense you don't "remember" what scale they should be. I guess I should also mention these images were taken in the giant redwood forest in Rotorua. Peter
