Photo opportunities in Broome

Postby Jeff on Sun Jan 21, 2007 10:24 am

Hi Guys

I'm been invited to a wedding at Broome in August. Have any of you guys been to Broome and got any ideas of photo opportunities around the area. I'm hoping also to stop over in Perth on the wayback any ideas of must see places.

Thanks
Jeff

The largest nude beach in Australia is in Broome. Surely there's be something to photograph there. Camels and tourists venture along it every day. There's also a crocodile farm run by Malcolm Douglas. There is a pearling industry there too with lots of pearl shops (cheaper than the cities), the wharf area has lots of pearling boats that make nice photos. There is plenty of scenery within 100klms of the town that would make great landscapes.

There's even some dinosaur footprints there, but i could not find them so i reckon they are a bit like the Loch Ness Monster.

I dunno if I'm that interested in large nudes.

I had a wander rounds for a few days years ago and found it fascinating. There's all sorts of people around, and the town itself has a bit of history visible. Cable beach is nice, the sunset is spectacular and there are always tourists around for you to shoot.

Hi
Have a look at Onlinewa
that should take you to onlinewa a huge portal of everything WA.
Other wise there is always places to visit like.
Kings Park
South Perth foreshore
Cottesloe Beach
City of Perth, parks and gardens
Swan Valley
There are a lot of places to visit, it all depends on how much time you have and where you are staying.

Hi! Jeff,

I recommend the late PM Hovercraft ride, the sunset shots you get standing oon the sand flats in 50mm of water are amazing! (And its a magic trip as well! :D )

Broome is full of photo 'ops, great place with a walk around lens on, you will not be disappointed. I found I was busyiest an hour before sunset, the light up there at this time is Gorgeous!!! (dis I say that? )

Cheers, Andy

ps don't miss out on going to the open air cinema, if you get bored, you watch the gecko's chasing each other around the screen :D
