If the D2Hs landed on the dog instead of the floor, he'd be dead already!

Just thought some members would like to know that I sent the Tokina down to Adeal's in Melbourne in Feb and have NOW ONLY JUST THIS MORNING RECEIVED IT BACK REPAIRED!!
The front thread was cracked and replaced, cost : $209.00.
I had no choice (other than sending it back to HK, which in hindsight would have been the best option   ). as they are the only repairers of Tokina lenses in Aust

So a word of warning to all Tokina owners, if you damage your lens DO NOT send it to Adeal's. Your better off sending it to HK and save all the agro that I've been through.

Cheers
Marc

Do you mean you sent it to "Adeal"?

They recently acquired the Australian wholesale dealership for Tokina from the previous dealers, Ricoh. Chances are it has taken them a while to get up to speed on parts and servicing for that lens.

Still, worth getting it fixed as it is a great lens.... just wish it was 2.8!

Marc, thanks for the warning. You must be a picky bugger, not satisfied with a five month turnaround for a repair!

Sorry Antsl
I did mean Adeal's, and have re-edited.
