HI All, While out at our local small airport today manage to get a couple of planes comming in at the time so took a few pics.
Anyhow the one of the landings didn't turn out well as still far away and with the heat there was a ripple affect between plane and me.
The smaller plane landed and park to refure and the bloke came and said hello while he waited for the bloke to come to fuel up, said he had only had the plane a few months and had no pictures of it as yet. Asked if i would take some pics oh him and the plane and put some sort of package together and he will pay.

He Happens to be a Managing Director of a group of insurance companies so yeh i told him i do it for a hobby and am no PRO, but if i make a few bucks all in all.

Ok so should i just put pics on a site for him to pick what he wants or do i suggest a package of sorts with a price for package??
Sorry for the rant, but well lot more brains and thoughts is better than 1.
Cheers and Thanks
John

Hey! you've got a job! congrat!
Put pics on your site and point the link to him, ask him what pic does he want then work out a package and lust the 200-400VR
I knew some guys at the track took pictures and sell to the riders, have you think about it?

better get everything down in writing, if he just wants prints make sure they have a copyright written on it or "no copies" printed. you'll be surprised what ppl to do with them.
if he wanted to use them for he website or advertisment there are a couple of programs around that do work out how much their worth as well.

Thanks redline, Birdy i do normally sell my bike pics from the track so yeh that side of things is ok. I will resize and put on the web told hime i will send him the link so he can choose the pics he wants or give me some idea on how much he wants to spend on them, but maybe i will let him choose. He said to me do up a package and what ever the cost is he would pay but would be safer for him to see what he is buying first.
Cheers

Work out what he wants, prints, high res images, license rights etc. for what photos. If he just wants prints, then get them printed up, and I think someone said if it's printed on Professional paper it'll have "Professional" mentioned on the back of the print, letting people know not to copy it.

If he wants reproduction rights, or licensing rights to the images, write up a contract/agreement stating what rights you have to the images, what rights he has to the images and any conditions put on the images.

Also try to get a model release stating that you can use the images for marketing/promotion, portfolio, sale and other misc uses.

Thanks Brembo, Will look into that, i guess money is no object to him, and well there is not a lot of fantastic shots you can do with a plane on the ground so i will email him with a link to his pics so he can choose then i will sort where i get them printed to see what the go is or i will have to border them and copyright them.
Thanks
John
