SB800 remote manual

Hi,

If I was to use SB 800 in remote, triggered by the on-board flash from D70 in commander mode where should I set power settings? Should the power settings be set on D70 or SB800 or both? Also, the same is the case when I use SC-29 cord, why can I set power all the way down to 1/128 on sb800 whilst only to 1/16 on D70 and which setting takes priority, the one on the camera or flash?

Thanks in advance for clarification

Alex

When used in Remote mode the SB800 won't allow you to change the power settings, only the Group and Channel. You need to tell the SB800(s) what they should be doing via your camera (thru the Commander Flash section in the menu's).

When attached to the SC29 I can't say which would take preference cos I've never tried it!

Thanks Liam. Just tested it. What about focal zoom/ aperture setting on SB800 when in remote? Are these values communicated by D70 to flash?

Thank

Alex

Oh, yeh, forgot that bit! You need to set the focal length on the SB800 itself.
