anyone bought Expo disk in Oz?

If so can you tell me where. I read that they cost about $150.

This seems a lot more expensive than a pringles lid!

My issue with a pringles lid is that I read that you put in on the lens and point an the light source whereas from what I can gather with an expodisk you point at the scene. Have I got this right? I'd rather point at the scene because pointing at a light source can be harder than it sounds where there are multiple sources (eg sunlight bouncing off a coloured wall and hitting the subject directly).

Cheers

AJ

The Expodisc for 67mm is AU$160.00 + S&H
I don't know who's selling them here in Australia, and I don't think anyone doing this. I used to buy 10 for an Education Dept./ Govt. but it'll cost more with GST at the end, approx. AU$200.00 for 67mm and AU$230.00 for 77mm including shipping + GST.
I recommend to buy the 77mm instead of for your future use.
I always point the Expodisc or Pringle lid to the light sources to do preset WB.

Not sure quite why you say that, Birddy, as it was unavailable anywhere else...

You said to me at the time you thought it was a reasonable price!

Timbo, think that comment was more directed at the D1X. They wont be selling many at $12k  Or D100 at $5k

On this one I disagree with you Glen - let’s face it there are always idiots who will pay the price asked and a lot of them live in our area and the likes of Borge and Kayell continue to do business

Chris PS - I have been one of these idiots in the past

So have I, Chris! An interesting comparison: they quoted me $3,550 (GST inc) for the 70-200VR AF-S. The rep there said I wouldn't get it any cheaper in Sydney...

Belmore's still in Sydney isn't it, Birddy?
