something i got in the mail today
“Proposals to ban all public photography are before a Federal Govt Committee in Australia. An online petition against this is at ....
http://www.petitiononline.com/ausphoto/petition.html
We cannot just assume that common sense or fair justice will prevail here.
I believe this petition and any other means of resisting these suggestions is essential for photography in this country.
Already photography is difficult or prohibited near schools and on beaches and apparently there are some who want to extend this to include the whole world.
And sadly, even within the ranks of practicing photographers there are some who seem to think professionals have more 'right' to photograph than amateurs.
This issue could lead to that becoming a reality, or even more restrictions on all.
Please forward to as many interested people as you can and ask them to sign the petition.”
