Yeah, I think this is the one Birdy is waiting for.

Sure does look nice with the LCD and everything else. It's not however finished yet. Does the shutter release work the same as the one on the camera? The small vertical strip on the front looks allot like and IR antenna, this is my guess. Would be mighty interesting if they have pulled off full metering, auto focus etc with the one button like on the body. All speculation.

Will be interesting to see them both (VG grip) and this one reviewed when some finally get sent out for said purpose.

hmm...site is down. From memory, it uses AA batteries and I'm not sure about the shutter release, or if it is functional or not. I do howevrer likr the locking wheel and power meters very much. We will see soon

I hate to disappoint you guys. The site is up but it is very slow. The product is there for more than 6 months but is not in production. Maybe it may never be.

From the looks of it, the grip is better than Harbortronics. But at least Harbortronics explained how their product works and they make sense.

I have been waiting for Hjkenis product almost a year now. There's no price indication or press release. There is no explanation how they can get the vertical shutter release to work like the way Harbortronics did without external wiring or signal.

So buyers beware.

"So buyers beware."

We can't buy it.

It hasn't been reviewed yet and I wouldn't buy something "brand new and untested". I don't think many people would without some reliable evidence that it does what it claims to do.

There were even some claims on that 'other' forum that this is a hoax and these are just photoshopped images!

But only if you're prepared to sell your soul, dignity, and other photographic-pride-based elements.

By the way, the link as seen on the first post in this thread is, IMO, wrong... the grip in that is made for the F70... not the D70... they are different cameras, last I checked.

The image above it is correct, but the actual link you want is the following:

I like the "vertical release shutton button" and the comment "have"

It really doesn't explain much, so far in my opinion harbour have a much more viable product with the VG than this one. I will reserve final judgement until they are both out and i have had a chance to use one.

I like to have it also but not the Non-genuine Nikon product, or wait till your camera is out of warranty and try them, I didn't see any good feed back on these VGs nor any review on it yet.

As i believe Onyx said "Vapourware"

The Harbour electronics VG-70 may become reality sooner than this one.

I agree with the non genuine issue, but am content to wait and see what reviews make of them.
