Qimage question

I am planning to take a few images to photoking @ randwick and get them printed large (atleast A3). All images were taken using D200.

I am looking at using Qimage to manage this process, ie get the image to the desired size etc. But reading the blurb on Qimage it seems its designed for the home printer and not prolab. Am I right at making this conclusion? Has anyone used Qimage to prepare images for print at a pro lab? If so what printer driver do you specify?

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated...

Cheers

Mike,

I just did one a couple of weekends ago. There is a section in the FAQ, from memory, that talks about this. I think it is on the Qimage web site. I don't have access to my QImage right at this moment.

The lab I went to were using an Epson large format printer, the 7600 I think, so I used the profile for that and it came out great. Basically produced a jpg for the printer.

HTH,

André

andre,

Thanks for the reply. I scanned the FAQ but obviously missed that section. I'll have a look again. BTW what size did you print at?

Mike,

Got access to Qimage.

have a look in the Help for Qimage and search for print. You should find this in the Qimage functions:
Printing to file versus printing to a printer

Discusses what to do to print off site. Basically you set yourself up to print to file and you get a jpg from it that you take to the lab.

I printed an A3 photo, came out great.

Cheers,

André

Andre,

Thanks for the help. Printed out 5 images @ 20" by 24" and they came out great. Am purchasing QImage this weekend....

In the end used createdforlife just because had stuff do to on the Central Coast and would definitely recommend them and use them again...

Cheers

Mike
