Hi Stubbsy, he had it in his 12-24 post, then when I looked at his pbase account realised it was mislabbeled it is a 10.5 shot

This is almost a fisheye effect isn't it?

Hi woody, the 10.5 DX is NIkons fisheye for digital (quite cheap too). Stubbsy, Chris and I have an ongoing discussion over which 12-24 is better, Nikon or Sigma. Truth is both of them have compromises, just which side of the fence you like your compromises.

It’s quite amazing the difference between the 10.5 and 12mm. For a difference of 1.5 you go from fisheye (semi) to wideangle.
Actually to be correct a fisheye pic is circular!!

Thanks for the scare

Couldn't agree more except to add that the reality is both are also excellent lenses and either of them would go well in anyone's kit.

And I doubt the distortion are consistent across the lenses. Individual sample variation would most likely account for the reports of greater distortion in the DX.

me thinks the most distorted aspect of either lens of quite likely to be the opinion of the owners
