 Hi all!
I have been lurking on the edges of this site for a while and after nearly 2 years Sandy Feet has finally managed to get me to register (plus I am the proud new owner of a D40 - my first SLR). As a previous P&S user I have a lot of learning to do!
I'm looking forward to improving my photography and learning from the forum.
 Cheers, Elena

 Hi, and welcome.
Which D40 did you get? The D40, or sthe the D40x?

It's a great step up from a PHD cam, and one which will see you on a learning curve that you thought you left behind in high school, but it can be very rewarding, and a whole lot of fun.

And remember - if you're not having fun, you're not doing it right.

 Thanks for the welcome!
My camera is a D40, not a D40x - I had waited long enough already to buy one. Currently I have the kit twin lens pack but will no doubt get caught in lens-lust soon (as soon as the finances recover ... )
 Cheers, Elena
