I wasn't sure if anyone had already linked to this, and I haven't read all the T&Cs yet to find out if MS is going to take my images and run, but I thought I'd post it now and let others decide if they want to enter, we certainly have the talent here to take away a few prizes I think.

Competition ends May 31st. Good Luck!

On further reading they take full rights to all images submitted (BOO HISS) and also it appears like you have to be a student.

And too bad if you come from Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria. Because MS doesn't like you! (Sad, very sad).

Just a quick perusal of the T&C

The Devil wrote:1. ELIGIBILITY.
Open to all students who are 18 (eighteen) years of age or older at the time of entry and actively enrolled at a two-year, four-year, or advanced degree granting college or university.

Interesting - no mention of what they need to be studying!

For anyone who is interested in this competition, apparently Microsoft have now changed the rules so that they only obtain rights to the WINNING entries.

They claim their lawyers made a mistake initially.

Conditions now state:
5. Rights to Use Entries.

As a condition of accepting a prize, you agree to grant Microsoft an irrevocable royalty-free worldwide license to reproduce and display the image, credited with your first and last name, in print and on the web for the purposes of only promoting this contest.

Well that is far more reasonable.. (does that me Strobist has re-added the link?) I like that he took it down when he read the T&Cs intially.

Yep, actually Strobist is where I first heard the news, then I went to the Microsoft page to check.
