anyone else seen the olympus tv ad and think its endorsing the belief that photographers on the beach are ok as targets for harassment.
imho i don't think its a great idea for a camera company to be promoting the idea, and thats all i got from the ad.

I saw it and was pretty annoyed, as it depicted photographers in the same class as child molesters. Very bad taste, or am I too grumpy?

I agree, it's really strange - it's almost like they are saying:
"Olympus - the voyeur's choice"

Agree - perhaps a few letters to Olympus might be in order.
Anything that promotes this crap suggesting cameras on the beach shouldn't be allowed needs to be brought into line. The fact this is a camera company using this line of argument to sell their cameras is even more concerning.

i don't see how they could think they would actually sell any.
i guess this was some ad execs clever idea that was pitched to a bunch of non english speaking japanese managers who have no idea of the small minded political correct crap we have to put up with.

I was quite angry when I first saw this ad - it just promotes the idea that photographers are nerds, perverts, or both.
Well done, Olympus.
And it's not even funny.
