i read somewhere on the forum long ago that there were some products like a underwater bag nothing fancy just a plastic clear bag that you could zip a camera up in and shoot under water

instead of buying a mega sandwhich sealable bag for my d200 is there a proper item sold somewhere?

i intend to shoot semi submerged for some project

Hi Wendell.

Ewa Marine is what you're looking for.

They have a bag that will handle a DSLR plus a lens, with a total depth of the setup of up to 200mm. Not sure if it will handle a D2x, but it should handle something like a D200 plus most of the primes to 85 without any major headaches.

If you're shooting under water, remember that you'll need a slightly wider lens than you might originally consider due to the refraction caused by the water. If you're just splashing around at the edges, that advice might not apply. If you're shooting more deeply under water, an external, off camera light source is pretty much a neccessity.

I have a card from the distributor, to whom I was talking at PMA in Melbourne a couple of weeks back. I was wondering how much interest we might have in a possible group purchase or perhaps trying to get some form of group discount for this? Show of hands please?

ill be shooting maybe a few centimetres below the water so the sun will illuminate most of what im shooting

i'll be using the d200 with my kit lens

It would depend on cost but I may be interested for taking the camera along whist kayaking.

I’ve been thinking that these bags would also be an advantage when photographing in the rain - especially sporting events.

I am definately in for one with 77mm filter size.

I will be purchasing one prior to August regardless of whether the forum has a deal. Kayaking in the Keppels and I don't have room on the boat for my Ikelite gear

They actually make a kind of camera raincoat ... might be worth investigating?

looks good to me. What lens did you have in it? Speedlight? What's the biggest lens you can get in it.
