Anyone been to Montrose, Colorado?

Hi Guys,
I have been offered a teaching exchange to Montrose in Colorado next year. We had applied for Canada but this came up and we are tempted. I was wondering if anyone had actually been there or to that part of Colorado and what it is like. All I can find is the usual tourist websites and I am not allowed to contact the other teacher until I sign on the dotted line!
Thanks,
Lee

I've been there a couple of times, the drive from there South to Durango is one of the most spectacular to be found anywhere IMO. More wonderful scenery than you poke a stick (or a camera!) at ;)
Its a small ~15000 population rural city close to the Rocky Mountains and if I had the chance to go there for a year I'd definitely take it!

Of course there are fantastic ski resorts in Colorado - could be handy if you are interested. Only 5 months until their ski season is underway again.
You may have lots of visitors then...

Cheers, Mick :) :) :)

Congrats, and good luck.

Of course, we won't let you go unless and until you promise to post lots of images. :)

Thanks! I am excited now and I hope it comes off. I hope it will give me many opportunities to improve my photography too and I will post lots of images! I can't believe they get 3 whole months off over summer. Plenty of time to get around and photograph (and get paid to do it).
