Great topic! They're all great but i love the pano of the grampians and Steve's night shot. Here's one I took from a helicopter when I took a day trip down the Great Ocean Rd with a friend.

It's a portrait landscape... I broke the rules!

Which reminds me - I've been meaning to get around to cleaning up and stitching the panorama sequence of the Grand Canyon. Ah well, one day...

Well, not exactly a landscape and not even a D70 shot but I kind of like it anyway.

absolutly awsome shots - even though most of you are very modest and start teh post with 'not the best photo' :D
Just wondeing what type of camera settings and lenses you have used for landscape shot - i'm new to all of this and i do a bit of bushwalking and want to learn how to take good landscapes

:D James

Hi James

My belief is that a good wide angle is the best for landscapes but you can also get great pics by using any lens depending on what you want the landscape to represent. The pic I posted here is a portrait of a tree which in itself is a form of landscape.

For what it's worth....
This was taken with a Kodak LS443, before I acquired my D70. Now I'm just gonna have to go back and take another shot...

I wish i could go back to the places i've taken photos with other cameras and use the D70 instead. Then again, i'll probably do that after i own a D270 or D5x or whatever i have then............

Best depends on my mood:
I like this one. When I need to sit back and smell the grass

Image

And this one when I need the smell of salt and creosote.

Image

Depends do I want a beer and fising pole with no bait or just sit and vegitate :)

I actually like the #2 photo better from "I went snowboarding" in the Image and Reviews section, but since I already posted it, and I like this one as well here it is. It's not great but it is pretty awesome I guess (sort of).

Image

I've got quite a few on my little flickr account. Check them out.

EDIT: Owen, great colors and picture. Lots of pop. Good work.

Chris, thanks...brass monkeys?
