New Nikon lenses and bodies

G'day
I spent the day today playing with some nice kit including:
- AF-S VR 300mm f/2.8G IF-ED
- AF-S 300mm f/4D IF-ED
- AF VR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED
- AF-S VR 70-200mm f/2.8G IF-ED
- AF-S DX VR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED
Lots of stuff to trigger the lens lust. Plenty of other stuff too, really big things and some little ones - so much to play with and so little time. The day was called a Nikon Pro workshop and arranged by Nikon and a local camera shop - Camera Electronic.
Needless to say all the questions about FF bodies were met with "Even if I knew I couldn't tell you". However amongst the things that were said were
- Soon the only lenses that Nikon will make will be G type lenses (ie without aperture ring) and AF-S
- Nikon traditionally make their new announcements late in the year
- The new set of primes will be AF-S G lenses
- The new Nikon bodies (if there are any) will be available before the Olympics, indeed the run-in period to the olympics is probably the main launch pad for new cameras.
I told the presenter I was probably hoping to buy a 70-200VR and a D200 but the finances meant I had to buy them seperately and about 6 months apart, he said that if he was in that situation he'd buy the lens now and expected there might be another camera choice in 6 months.
