Which way to mount lenses in a Pelican case?

Probablu best to bear in mind that a case - especially one like a Pelian - is for tranporting your gear from there to here, and while you're here, it should be in a storage solution, not a transport one.

I guess whatever fits. Looking at a Pelican 1550... and it allows a bit of room to grow into.
Why wouldn't I "store" equipment in this case?
Is this a condensation/moisture issue?
I would leave the case open, ie; lid ajar for air circulation.
