More $$$ to slip through my fingers?

Well, I got my D200, and a wet clean has gotten rid of most of the dust I introduced. It's a joy to use, big step up from the D70. Find myself hunting around the camera for the controls I want to change much less. I had the D70 for 2.5 years, and still often had to take it away from my eye and look what I was changing / doing. This is reduced already in my use of the D200 (1 short play basically).
However, today, I went for a walk along the water front. A ship was coming in, so went to take a photo and it looked out of focus in the viewfinder, even after the camera had finished focussing. I was using autofocus. Though shit, it's not that hazy, and it wasn't. Seems my 18-70 will not focus to infinity properly. Autofocus stops at the infinity marker, but objects at infinity are not in fact in focus. Tweaking it manually, and turning the ring a little past infinity brings objects at infinity into focus.
Fun.
Suggestions on what it's likely to cost for repair / calibration / whatever it needs would be appreciated.
I had been unhappy with sharpness of my photos (including those taken with primes) for a while. Was showing some photos on an LCD at my folks place, and they appeared sharper than on my CRT at home. So I think my CRT may be on the way out. Will hopefully be able to rescue it for a while with internal focus adjustment. Think this model has it (most do).
And... My D70's top LCD is partially dying / dead. In the WB line, the 1st option is very faded, as is the 5th option along, and the final option.
D70 is under extended warranty till November, so I might drop it in somewhere to get fixed.
