boom arm is important for a hairlight
i just want a simple attachment for flash and stand nothing too fancy i'll check out all options
thankyou
how much reach do you need from a boom? and weight?
if light weight, and only about 60cm, the manfrotto flash bracket's base can clamp over a light stand, and give you the reach up to about (if thats not enough reach, you can buy extension arms, or the adjustable "magic arm" to add to the end of the flash bracket)

these accessory shoes are aluminum, and are touch (survive a fall)

you can achieve a lot with one of these simple $10 items

I think calumet also have lots of rebranded stuff, usually exactly the same, for about 60% price.
for a boom (if only for an SB800), what about a cheap monopod, clamped unto somehting with 1 or 2 superclamps? perhaps onto a tripod, bookshelf, pipe, whatever you can.
how about, a light stand, then an umbrella bracket, then a backlight stand, then the flash?

there are also flexi arm versions of extensions, which are nice and adjustable.
If you have superclamps, how about a light stand, a superclamp, a broom handle, then a superclamp and your flash?
