Another website review requesthttp://www.trentwallis.com/
Seeing as though I haven't joined circlework like a few others here, I figured I needed to update my website a bit (hmm, maybe I should join if my website isn't up to scratch hehe). Any thoughts would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!
I like it, simple, quick, easy to find what you need...
Everything you need from a site and no more Well done trent ps, nothing wrong with circlework
The only suggestion I have is perhaps make the first page a little more eye catching, get rid of the most recent galleries and put select images there instead.
I dont like the idea of having the instructions on how to navigate the galleries on the front page either.... That being said this is a simple to use website that I am sure even my mother could figure out. You are perhaps selling yourself a little short by having the first page too functional. BTW do you sell many images from this site?
Trent, I like its simplicity. I would agree with Carlo, I would have the message loud on the first page (I am Trent and I take photos of your car) or maybe with a bit more sizzle with the help smaller or relegated back a page or a paragraph down like you have now (but only if there was more above).
Nice work Trent, I like it. Simple to handle and some nice shots as well.
With regard to pricing maybe you should make original files POA. Some shots are going to be worth more than others especially if printing for publication is considered. D700, 50 1.8, 14-24 2.8, 24-70 2.8, 70-200VR, 80-400VR, SB800 plus a lot of gadgets
Hi Trent,
The galleries are nice and simple as the gallery software makes them, that is good. Something I found nice to have is to have things sorted by date, does make searching a little easier for the client. Also if you are going to have a thumbnail for the gallery, look at using a custom one that is a great photo that really exemplifies the event. The front page needs some oomph! This is your first page people see, it is the one you use to grab people, have some of your best work up there. Also think of adding a portfolio, where you can really showcase! This is a must in my opinion! One question, who are you, what motivates you? I think a lot of sites miss this one section, tell a little about you! Agree with earlier comments, put your phone number up there, it makes things easier for potential clients who want to talk to you. Some people hate using email. Other than that great work, black backgrounds are the best colour for photography sites! And oh no not another one looking to join Circlework They have a great little listing of photogs already, anymore and they'll take over the world Cheers Brett
Thanks very much for all the comments guys, very much appreciated!
I was a bit uncertain of the design for the front page, so thanks for the confirmation that it needs some work! Should have something new up there within a few days, the featured gallery/portfolio idea is one that I'd thought about but will definitely put into action now based on your feedback. The main reason I don't want my phone number on the contact page is because I'm currently teaching in a high school. Some of my students are aware of my website (it's the first result you get when you Google my name) and I'm not entirely keen on students having my phone number for a multitude of reasons.
