Hand Held vs Stabilized Rule of thumb

Postby goodrich62 on Thu Feb 10, 2005 9:28 am

I know it is just a rule of thumb but if you say that at 300mm the speed should be at least 1/300 of a sec. do you take the crop factor into effect so at 300 with the crop is 450mm equvilant the speed should be greater the 1/450.
The reason I ask is. Maybe my hands overly shaky but at 300 I have to get to 1/500 to be prety sure the pictures will not be blurry

Thanks
