Hi Zsolt,
This is the classical catch 22 that you're in. You need a portfolio to get started but you have to do weddings to get a portfolio.
The way I started, I called on a few reception places who told me that they already had resident photographers so I called on the studios that they dealt with and eventually one gave me a job assisting. Eventually I was given the lead role.
A couple of thousand weddings later, the novelty wore off.

I've thought about this very thing before.

For your portfolio, you can always get hold of male and female couple, and taken images of them dressed in 'wedding' clothes. This may require a couple of diffferent model couples and locations. But, the expense wouldn't be that high, and it would quickly give you a wedding portfolio.

I think though, that there would be a world of difference in the stress levels of both subject and photographer between kids sports, events etc and wedding photography, and thats what keeps me from going there!

Good luck, I'll be watching this thread also.
