Ahhhhh , just my luck, after waiting 1 1/2 weeks for my screen protector to arrive from Poons ebay store, it was cracked. What are the chances?!

What are my options? Anyone?

Try one of those EXIM screen protectors, like this one from eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/EXiM-screen-protector-for-Canon-EOS-5D_W0QQitemZ190139342497QQihZ009QQcategoryZ43479QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I've got one of those for my D2H (it's actually a set of 3 for all three LCDs) and haven't looked back, the original plastic thingie has since disappeared at the bottom of some drawer... These ones are practically invisible, don't get lost, fogged or scratched and keep the LCD pristine. Highly recommended!

Cheers
Steffen.

Do they make them for the d200? I am after one as I have cracked my original lcd protector by dropping it and I just bought a new one last week which has broken too without any help from me. These sound much better!

The EXIM ones are crap. Ill tell you why, they haze over and it makes it REALLY hard to see your image (Im using a 5D also). Further it smudges alot , again making it hard to see.

The best protector is the one I got from Poon/Gary @ DSLRUsers.net - its great!

Are you sure we're talking about the same product? I've been using mine since Feb 2006, and it hasn't changed at all. It's as good as on day one.

Cheers
Steffen.

Which one is it? I have only seen one from Poon on ebay and I couldn't order because I am not a verified paypal member. Gary said we can't order it through here.

Yay, I think I'll buy the EXIM series protector for my D2H... lost the stock cover and now been running without anything protecting the LCD for a while... I hope it is as good as being described :D

Steffen,

is this the one you got?

The one I got was this one:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 7592520446
(this is the actual auction were I bought it)

It was called "Screen Protector Ultraclear", I assume that's what SPUC stands for, SPUC being better than SPOC apparently. Might be worthwhile to read up about it on the Exim web site.

In any case, I decided to give it a try back then (I could always shell out for a new Nikon plastic one later), and haven't regretted the purchase at all. The foils honestly still look like one day one, no fogging, no curled up corners, no scratches or anything. And they were easy to apply, too, unlike some which you can't get on without trapping bubbles. As long as I can get those I'll never go back to plastic clip-on protectors (I also got them for my wife's S2 and for the kids' Nintendo DSes)

I showed mine to Stubbsy at the AW dinner, ask him what he thought of it.

Cheers
Steffen.
