First Class - QANTAS

Theses are really shitty photos, it was like 10 seconds after I got my new lens onto the camera. I ordered a 12-24mm from here, about 2 weeks before I was taking off to NY, the lens arrived while I was at Sydney Airport. my Girlfriends mum was home when it was delivered and because she is so nice she drove it to the airport for me while we waited! God bless her (its only 15 mins anyways)
Got the lens, jumped on the plane and snapped some shots.
My dad has been with QANTAS for 13 years and after 10 years he gets long service leave and receives a free trip anywhere he wants to go, with unrestricted upgradeable tickets. We couldn't get first class from Sydney - Los Angeles as it was full, so only got Sydney - San Francisco and had to fly to LA to get on a plane to go to NY! Took 3 days to get to NY!.
For 3 years the whole trip was about getting first class! We (my mum, dad, brother and me) got first class from Syd - LA, my mum and dad got first class from LA - NY and my brother and I got Business Class - was only 5 hour flight.
On the way back, NY - LA we had a VIP in first class, though we were in business class, and they were Terry, Bindi and Bob Irwin accompanied by their manager (red haired guy)
Anywho here are some really noisy, shots of first class (a little disappointed we didn't get to fly first class on the A380!!!)

So this what us commoners are missing out on! Some friends of mine left for an OS trip today and their work paid for Business upgrades - they got chauffer driven to the airport and everything. Definitely the way to fly.

The entertainment was actually very different to how it used to be.
the entire plane has all the same access, right down to economy, though the screen size gets smaller. there is a fairly good selection of movies, enough to keep someone occupied for 14 hours, and tv episodes, music, news and even games.
I wont be flying first class again, i just didnt think the value for money was worth it.

Planes should all offer that sort of comfort!!

One day, I'll earn my own 1st class ticket :D

That would diminish the pain of travel, Laurie. Cattle class leaves you feeling a bit like a galley slave. Looks like you are going to have fun with that lens.

Wow!

I'm sure there are a few of us here thinking about how we have to put a 26" backside into a 22" seat when we're looking at those lounge chairs.... :D

Hope it was a fantastic journey with many more to follow...!
