The Great Wall of APEC - photographic slideshow from SMHGreat photos that really pissed me off about what the Iemma & Howard governments have done.

Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug
What I don't understand is why the heck didn't they just meet in somewhere that wouldn't put so many people out of place...like in Canberra or in the middle of the Nullarbor...
Hassy, Leica, Nikon, iPhone
Come follow the rabbit hole...
Or Collingwood Just referencing last Sat night's game. Regards, Patrick

i must be the only one is Sydney who loved APEC
i mean its not every day you get to see the American president and the Australian prime minister make fools of themselves together when ever they were together it was so awkward, i was cringing. i was not fussed at all by the lock downs at all. OPEC.. ahaha. idiot.
I live in the "red zone" and thought the whole thing was just an incredible laugh. I loved that I had to go through army check points to have my groceries scanned, just to get home. As well as getting free F18 flight shows during the day... All so that Mr Bush can sleep safe at night... Brilliant what can be done given the right motivation
I heard about Dubya's mistake of OPEC and Austria... I guess the Austria one is a classic in America.
Anyway, really like those ones with the wall and the harbour bridge in the background. Blog: http://grevgrev.blogspot.com

That was the part that made me ashamed to be an Austrian. Er, I mean Strayan. In all seriousness, the fences were just WOTT IMHO, and likewise the police and military presence. If that's what our beloved governments think is necessary to keep us safe from terrorism, then I'm afraid that the terrorists have already won. But let's, please, stay on topic for a change. g.
Gary Stark Nikon, Canon, Bronica .... stuff The people who want English to be the official language of the United States are uncomfortable with their leaders being fluent in it - US Pres. Bartlet
Gary, were they trying to keep us safe from terrorism? I thought it was about keeping them safe from us. (Still on topic due) Regards, Patrick

Seems they can't even keep them safe from anything considering how easy it was for The Chaser to get through two "checkpoints".
Excellent pics - great angles and viewpoints. Sadly, they remind me of the walls built around the Jewish quarters in Warsaw, Lodz, etc., but hey, that was 65 years ago...
Heil Howard Chris
