Windows Image View And Colour Profiles?

When viewing photos from the default winXP image viewer (Windows Picture & Fax Viewer), the embedded colour profit seem to be not loaded but instead the sRGB or some Windows default colour profile is loaded. Skin tone is obviously much more red and orange.
Is there anything I can do to the photos so that colours are properly shown on the default viewer? Or some settings with windows? My photos are captured and saved as Adobe RGB. They show correctly in Photoshop, Firefox and IE, but just not the default viewer.
Or anyone recommend a very fast loading and low memory consumption software that opens the files in their respective embedded ICC profiles?
