Just got an invitation from Nikon Singapore to attend the D2X product launch next week on the 24th. Unfortunately I'm going to be in Melbourne at the time.

Looks like the closest I'll be getting to a D2X for the time being is the nice invitation card with picture of the D2X.

Nice invite all the same. Did they say you could bring your own CF cards?

Hehe... you'll be in Singapore on the 24th ? have to check with Nikon whether someone else can take up the invite.

Glen,
I think there is a hands on session, I think people who are attending will be taking along their CF cards.

Anyway, here's a pic of the invite card someone took

Was wondering how come you were so quiet today.

Wish I was living in Sydney, I'd be at every single meet just to be able to play with all your camera equipment

Gooseberry,

are you a member of NPS in Singapore?

I know the guys over at Clubsnap.org are going to the d2X launch, I think Nikon Singapore have given them 150 tickets. Nikon Singapore must be pulling out all the bells and wistles for the D2x launch.

huynhie,

Yep, I'm an NPS member. Yeah, looks like a pretty big launch. Too bad I'm gonna miss it.

Have you ordered one? NPS/ NPA should get it first! Grab one and enjoy your life!!!!Go to the launch, for what? shoot with it and come back home without it but with the pics taken on your CF card, then you will have your drama in your dream, more sufferring,

I rather get one, close the door, play it myself then let members try it at the mini meet  we can call it mini-launch within our joys of members.

huynhie,
Thanks. Actually I grew up in Melbourne - heading back to visit my parents.

Hahaha... very true Birddog, but no, I'm not ordering one, a bit too pricey for me at the moment, although the D2X is a mighty fine camera.

Buy a D2x and follow that flower on the street, you may find a big fortune there

When you think about it, when you go to the launch you get a cup of coffee and may be a biscuit and 500 people to fight over the camera.
You go to Birddogs and you get a much better lunch, much better company and a dozen people looking over the camera.
No contest really!

 hehe... wish I had the S$7-8k to blow on camera equipment, but then if I did, I'd probably save a bit more and grab a 200-400 and use with the D70 then buy another camera body.

phillip,
true, but there is only one Birddog and he's not living in Singapore.
