Need some help

Hello, this is my first time posting and I am a strict amateur, so please be gentle. I took both the attached photos with my Canon Rebel XT, note the spot on the lighter photos on the bottom left quadrant that does not show up on others. Any opinions as to what might be causing this are appreciated. Same camera used with the same lens.
Thanks.

My uneducated guess is dust on the sensor, or else on the lens optic?

Hello and welcome Battybp.
It looks a lot like what is comonly refered to as a dust bunny.
This is a tiny spec of dust on your ccd (the bit of the camera that reacts to the light like film used to)
Most times they can be blown out with a clean air jet.
There is lots of info on the net for this so have a look about. Do a search on this site as well. There are lots of very clever and helpful folk here.
Regards Colin

Ian and Colin are correct; it's dust on your sensor.

Your camera manual should have some basic instructions for sensor cleaning. I'd start with, as suggested, a decent blower. Look for something like a Giotto, and whatever you do, do not use anything like the air that comes in cans. These contain propellant gases, and they can cause staining and damage to your sensor.

Basically, you need to remove the lens, open the shutter, and blow the dust off.

Simple. :)

And welcome to the forums.

Thank You folks, I looked up my Users Manual and it has a page on how to get to the sensor. I will try cleaning it with clean air.
