Web storage - ie flichr or - or-orG'day dslrers
I am thinking of putting some pics on the web etc. I had to do this when I did my first post the other week. Some where to upload to and then reference to. So I thought I might put a few more up. So my question is what is a good site to use I started a base flickr account, and see that I need to pay if I need to have any real control. What else is there , Smug mug etc. What are good spots, what are not. Is it worth having and paying $25 +++ per year. What options and usages do people use or recommend. Thanks Waz
Hi Waz
Many here use Smugmug; but there are flickr and Zenfolio users too. I think that you will need to pay to have anything worthwhile. If you plan on growing your photo collection, then having some sort of web presence will be extremely beneficial to show your images to relatives, friends etc; as well as to upload to this site for critique. I have relatives and friends all over Australia and overseas, ans they can access my pix on Smugmug whenever they like and wherever they are. TFF (Trevor)

Many here uses smugmug, which is really nice with its features and everything.
I use zenfolio, which I liked more because of the easy to use transfer interface (drag and drop) and yet professional looking presentation. I pay USD$40 each year for my services, excluding my own domain host... Link is under my sig, and I got a discount code on the site as well, if you wish to take a look. If you wish to go with smugmug, there are other member's discount code listed on this forum as well.
I'm a fan of SmugMug too - it has a free trial if you want to test it out and if you look HERE you'll fins SmugMug discount codes for a reduced sign up amount.
I find SmugMug is dead easy to use, has a nice clean interface and is very reliable. Peter

I'm also an advocate for Smugmug, having recently signed up I'm very happy with it, nice easy and clean interface.

I'm with you Colin... I'm a photbucket user as I only use it to post my pics on sites like these cause I have a website already... plus I hate spending money on stuff I don't need... The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list...
i used to use photobucket but quickly ran out of storage space so now i use imageshack.us
i currently have over 3000 pic on there . its free but your pics are only in posting order so its hard to find something you posted a couple of years ago. hot linking is easy and is still hotlinked after a few years so far. Shane
