I've been looking at various photos submitted by you guys and I've noticed that on the framed photos, some have preserved the exif information, others have not.
For example Gregb's recent photos have the exif, Killakoala's don't.
Would the guys who have the exif preserved care to tell us what they use?

The easiest way to resize photos for posting (framed or not) in PS is to click on the "resize for web" option. Unfortunately this strips the exif information but is heaps quicker.

There is another way to do this through PS that is a little more convuluted but preserves Exif, however I'm on the other computer ATM that doesn't have PS installed and I can't recall it step by step off the top of my head

I think you will find it is the way the image is saved/resized rather than the frames that effect the Exif data.

All I do is resize the image down to about 1Mb then do a save as jpeg value 8 - EXIF preserved and it is quick

I was using some programs that specialize in framing photos eg. Framemaster and Frameshow. they're very good at giving you ralistic looking frames, but they get rid of all Exif.
I've gone back to using a photoshop action that Oneputt gave me. It's not fancy but at least it retains all the exif info.

My frames are simply put in using the Canvas size function of PSCS. I then use Imageready to save the file, which has the ability to keep exif

I've been saving mine straight from PSCS - change image size then mode 8 then save as jpg - never thought of using Image Ready. I'll have to check it out.

I use the same PS actions for all my frames and i have checked on smugmug that the exif is still intact in my recent pics. Perhaps the only thing i can think of is that the photos i have taken with the 500mm lens don't show apeture or focal length as it is not a CPU lens. Focal length is usually listed as 0mm and and apeture as 1.0 (Pity it isn't )

Panos on the other hand have absolutely no exif in them as they are composites of multiple images.
