For everyone that can't make it down to Melbourne for the Australian F1 GP, Mr Webber and his Willaims buddies will be doing safety demo's on Sydney Harbour Bridge (Yes the bridge will be closed) in his F1 car on the 27th.

Hopefully we can get some good shooting positions otherwise the big fast primes will be the order of the day.
Remember the ear plugs! :D

The bridge is closed from 5am through 10 am, and I believe that public access will be non-existant.

What's the park we were at across from the bridge on the North Shore near Luna Park?

We need Glen's Ruski, Birddog's 200-400, a Sigma 300-800, and a few TC's...

I wonder if the Harbour Bridge climbs will be operating? :)

Might be a good vantage point.

Woops sorry Gary, hadn't seen this one.
Too many threads to keep up with.

My understanding is no. Safety reasons.

Leigh, that won't work either, because you're effectively below the bridge's main deck. The only possible decent view would be from on the main deck, or above it.

Guess where the media will be ...

Even if they have the bridge climb, you won't be able take photo from it!

I thought the bridge climb took you over the arch?

But they never let you have any sort of camera with you.

I checked the RTA website, no public access! How rude! I am going to wander down to the High St overpass on the morning as I think it is the only spot which might have acces, or Lavender Bay st exit. Will scope both out in the next few days. Not much room at either, which is why they say no public access.

Glen,
1/ Done a hard and safety hat + vest with the broom, pretend you're doing road work for the RTA.
2/ Come over my place and pick up the photo vest, with a CB radio with the headset and mic. over the lip, and have some other photography gears hanging around with at least 1 or 2 members as your assistants and more gears on them, pretend you're from a media firm!
Then you can walk freely to the spot.

It only refreshes every 60 seconds though... You might miss it altogether...

A blur is better than nothing.
