Macro lens? Nikon, sigma, or tamron

Hi everyone, like to get a macro lens for wedding work.

Looking at the
Tamron 90mm
Sigma 105mm
Nikon 105mm or 60mm.

Any advice would be great. Thanks

Buy all, they're all good and excellent macro lenses, I didn't see anything which I can say about them! one of each and you'll have fun

Out of curiosity, what part of the wedding would you use macro on.
Do you really want to get that close to the rings or something?

You can't go past the tamron 90mm.

Also can’t go past the Sigma 105mm - at least 3 forum users have this lens. The beauty of the 150 or 180 Sigma macro would be that you can get closer by being further away - if that makes sense

Granted it is not a macro, but see what you can do with the 17-55 before you grab a macro lens. The 17-55 focuses close enough for me for any wedding work I do.

I don't sell Tamron even though I have one 90Di + 01 x 180Di macro lens, mainly Nikon "gold box" or Sigma with "Platinum band".
$600.00 is Sydney retail pricing.
The 17-55Dx can do something nearly macro but can't get closed to Macro lenses (1:1)

I have been on this path for a while (getting a macro lens, that is)

At the moment, I use my Tamron 70-300 which has a 1:2 macro capability, but I would love a dedicated 1:1 macro.

The Tamron and Sigma el cheapo zooms 70-300 both have macro and cost <$250. And the results are surprisingly good for the money.

However, that Sigma 150 would be a beauty.

Vince, just went through the same question. All are very good, which is why it is hard to choose. Some opinions I have seen is that the Nikon is an older design, a couple have even spoke about a VR macro coming out. It seems there is only a gnats whisker between them. My Sigma 105 was delivered on Monday.
