Thanks guys. Always love seeing my pics in the mag and it was great to see Mudder's pic too. :D No problems with posting. I'll post up mine tonight when i get home from work.

That would be cool to see all four covers held by D70 users. 8)

G'day,
Just surfaced after a big night of work, logged in and saw this thread... :-)

It's a real buzz, especially when I'd only had the D70 for a couple of months, so I'm tickled pink, now I'm all revved up :-) I've learnt a lot since then from you guys here about how to take a shot and how to PP... I'll post the image in a tick...

Arthur, The magazine is distributed to FOTZ members (dunno if it's available elsewhere). Might be available at the Zoo, dunno...

Nicole, the Baboon shot is striking! Another great shot of yours!

Can't wait for the Werribee photo shoot this week-end, this should be a blast... Maybe we could offer some prints as a thank you to the Zoo staff who were very helpful and helped organise the private shoot... I can only print A4's but that's probably OK for the purpose.

I'm going to put my head back in my coffee cup now until I wake up....

Cheers,
Mudder

G'day,

Just about to do some stuff, but posted the image for a sticky nose... I was suprised it was OK as twas an early one that was taken in landscape and could only use about the middle 30% crop area (ie: portrait), still lernin'. The crop area in the mag is different to this, it's a quickie...

Wait'll ya check out Nicole's Baboon shot.. Now that's a bewdy!

Cheers,
Mudder

Well done to both of you.

I can see why they wanted to print yours Mudder. It's a beauty!

Hopefully Nicole can post her photo soon for us all to admire.

Jeepers - what a thrill for you both and may you have a thousand successes like this one! :D

OK work is over for the day so here's my pic. Mine was landscape too so they cropped for the cover as well. The baboons are in an older enclosure so it's better getting up closer to avoid the surroundings. Thanks everyone! :D

Congratulations, great pics, hope I can achieve that standard.

May I ask what lens you two were using, wouldn't be the 70-200VR would it?

NIcole, your shot has a very 3 D feel to it, like the Baboon's face is sitting on top of the page. Great work.

Well done guys, excellent work.

How did you go about submitting the photos? Does the magazine accept photos from visitors to the zoo normally?

Nige, I took this photo before I upgraded lenses and was using the Sigma 100-300 f4 at the time. Nice and sharp but quite heavy and no VR.

Woody, to submit photos you have to be a member of FOTZ. If you have a digital camera they will usually only accept cover shots from cameras that are 6MP and above.

Beautiful shots :!:
The baboon is unbelievable. The eyes look like he is contemplating the greater meaning of life. Between the intelligence, at least that what it looks to me and the hair my first thought was that is the Albert Einstein of the monkey world.
If "the eyes are the window to the soul" I think you caught his. No disrespect ment to the religious folk :!:
Thanks Again
