Could someone help with this one please

If I have got the SB800 in AA Mode
Then I want to go to remote on SB 800
Then dial in Commander Mode / Then AA on D70 Menu

Will it be shooting in AA in Remote ?
Or is it best to stick to TTL when in Remote Mode ?

Mic, only had mine a week so clueless, but if no one responds why don't you try taking a photo then looking at the flash mode in capture? I think it tells what style of flash, though not sure.

Good luck with yours, I've had mine for a couple of months and just, JUST

finding I'm understanding it a fair bit more.

It's great, but boy oh boy it takes awhile for it all to sink in. With a few reads of the great plain as day Instruction Manual & good tips from you guys.

Yep, what you have done will set the SB-800 to fire in AA mode while in remote. ie.

1. Set your SB-800 into remote mode.
2. On your D70, set the flash mode to Commander/AA.

Careful with AA mode in remote, I've had some overexposure sometimes with certain situations, whereas I've not had any troouble with TTL remote.

Welcome to the puzzling world of the SB800 manual. As others told me when I got mine, throw away the manual and play.

Goosberry seems to have got it down pat though, much smarter than me. :oops:

gooseberr is correct.
when the SB800 is in remote mode, no exposure setting is possible on the flash.

flash exp type is only avail on the D70, exactly as gooseberry pointed out. BTW why r u using AA over TTL?

Ok Feles i have not got 1 as yet but have read this artical by Dave Black.
Ok it might not be want you are after but hey it's to do with the sb800 so i pass the link on enjoy the read, u might get something out of it.

Good question, wouldn't have a clue. To tell you the truth I don't know what I'm doing with this thing half the time, suppose AA sounded good at the time.
I will experiment with some TTL as well.
