i have a lowepro mini trekker and i love it. It is so much easier carrying your camera gear in a backpack rather than a handbag.
Crumpler bags all the way... I love these bags
Might not suit everybody as they are not, let's say traditonal camera bags but geez they built well and you REALLY feel like your camera is protected. I got the Tallee: http://www.crumpler.com.au/public/photo ... 0&catid=66 I can fit my D70 with Kit lens on the body, SB25 (soon to be SB-800) and another smaller lens in the top section and then three more lenses in the "hidden" bottom section. Plus all the usual filters / cleaning stuff etc... I really recommend these bags to anyone. W00DY Andrew

Re: Billingham 445Nice setup.
How well does the hood work on the 28-70 when the lens is at its widest? If the hood is from the 20-200, I might expect to see some vignetting ... I'm using a Billingham at the moment. Lets me carry my laptop, D70 with kit lens, 70-210, 50 f1.4, SB800, plus some odds and ends all in the one bag. Weighs almost as much as I do though! g.

Re: Billingham 445
Due to the 1.6x crop of the 10D it isn't an issue. Also the 28 is a strange lens in that it is at it's shortest when at 70 and the front element extends when you go to 28mm. So really the problem is at 70mm and because of the crop all is good.

Ok, yes of course. That makes perfect sense.
Although the crop takes care of the problem, even with the lens at its shortest at 70mm, I don't think that this will actually be the case. The issue here will be the field of view of the lens, which, regardless of the physical length of the lens, will be wider for a 28mm focal length than it will be for a 70mm focal length. To prove this, just wrap a paper hood (or something similar) around the lens with the lens set at, for this example, 70mm. Keeping the lens at 70mm, extend just this hood until you can just see it impeding upon your feild of view in the viewfinder. Now, without changing the relative position of this hood, move the lens to a wider setting. You should see a far greater intrusion of this hood with the wider angle than you do at the longer focal length setting. Am I making any sense? g.

Re: Billingham 445
I'll have to check your experiment when I get home but.....from memory the hood is attached to the body of the lens. This means that when I go from 70mm to 28mm the front element moves forward relative to the hood i.e it is further forward in the hood. Although 28mm has a wider field of view it is further forward in the hood to compensate. I suppose it depends on where the FOV is measured from: the image plane (sensor) or front element. Aside from all of the above, the 70-200 hood is only 1cm longer than the 28-70mm hood so I think the 1.6x crop more than compensates for this.
i dont know if this has been posted before but there is a d70 user bag website located here:

Mini trekkor is great...but one day you are gonna forget to zip it up and when you go to put it on your back everythings gonna spill out on the ground. It happens to every minni trekkor owner at least once. 10 times if you're really stupid!
