Broke my 18-70 :(

Postby jamesw on Sat Apr 05, 2008 11:22 am

I was being a little careless the other night while shooting... swapping lenses... whoops... dropped the 18-70mm.

Now the focusing motor in it appears to be stuffed, it makes a horrible hiss when your focusing on something. Kind of like a metal on rubber grippy sound.

So now the 18-70 is going to the bin!

It's not all tears though, i guess, its forcing me to purchase that Tamron 17-50 f2.8 i've been eying off for a while, but couldn't justify...

R.I.P 18-70 :(

All the best on the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 that you've had your eye on.

I still really like that kit lens, what I did drop in a shoot yesterday was my SB800, and I dropped it twice! Scratches and dents but it still works. :(
