UV filter type needed in Bolivia

Postby cc3010 on Sun Apr 06, 2008 11:03 pm

Hello, I'm new to the forum. I'm wondering if anyone knows if there's a particular type of UV filter needed to avoid getting a blue haze in all of one's photos in Bolivia because of the high altitude? I'm going in June.

Hi and welcome :D

I believe those are the A1/2 and B1/2 skylight filters that produces warming effect and UV block. But if you are shooting digital, I don't think it actually matters as WB can be tweaked and you can PP your images to suitable colour tones. This case a simple good quality UV filter will be enough.

Something you might want to actually bring is a CPL, circular polariser.

Yi-P,

Thanks! Oh, I see. Yes, I'm shooting digital, and already have a circular polarising filter, UV filters on each lens, so maybe I'm all set then! Cool! Unless anyone else has any other suggestions! :D
