Cheapish Ring Flash OptionTrevor (cricketfan) made a post in the B&W CF Card announcement thread ( ) with a link to
the Strobist blog. (Which had an AFD joke about overclocking your flash.) Blog here Anyway, there was another article there about the Ray Flash Ring Flash Adaptor, an item which plugs on to the front of your SB-600 SB-800 or 580 EX and turns it into a Ring Flash. The review was pretty positive. The item is US$300 (plus shipping US$60) say AUD400. I must say it looks mighty tempting. Has anyone seen or heard of these things? Website (Expoimaging, home of the Expodisc) for the Ray Flash here Greg - - - - D200 etc

Re: Cheapish Ring Flash OptionThe simple answer Greg, is no. Ring flashes produce a very flat image and this product is far too expensive. Look in the bargain section at either the Sigma ring flash (it’s cheaper) or the more versatile Nikon R1C1 system.

Re: Cheapish Ring Flash OptionDepends on what you're planning on shooting with the ring flash. For something that small, up close and personal type of photos will work. For something more powerful, you might have to go down the track of DIY

Re: Cheapish Ring Flash OptionI just found this. http://www.photoimaging.com.au/linkfram ... d_ID=42836
I'm not sure how good it is and over $300 for a bit of plastic it's not exactly cheap either. __________

Re: Cheapish Ring Flash Option
Greg - I saw one in Borge's imaging in Port Melbourne on the weekend. About $360. Looked like an interesting tool and worth a try out at least. They have a Nikon friendly one on display there and the girl behind the counter sugegsted I bring my cam in next time for a test shoot. Steve (Nikon D200/D700)
