It sure seems like a lot, Birdy. Not far short of a new 70-200 VR, which I would far prefer.

Seems there is quite a few on this board with an undiscovered goldmine in their cupboard. Personally I find it unbelievable.

Mine isn't the D version either, and I wouldn't want to part with it, but $745 US might tempt me.

A classic Ebay sale:

An Aussie company offered a 120Gb H/D at a buy it now price of $189 + postage

The same company offered the same item with a starting price of $189 + postage

Someone placed a bid of $189

The first item was for those in the know - the second item was placed for idiots 8) 8) 8) 8)

I bought mine brand new for $560 US and it came with the kit lens and 70-300 ED in Nov 02. Unbelievable that someone would pay more on Ebay for a used one. So in a word, Yes, they are truly idiots.

If I got out of mine for $400 us (body and kit lens) I'd be a happy camper.

On a side note, the 24-120 VR is for sale here at the Lens and Shutter for $735. This lens seems so useful and I'm thinking that 735 canadian is a pretty good deal. I took a gander through the D100, and was impressed at the autofocus etc. Is this a good price Birdie?

Dooda, this lens is in the bargain section at $750 AUD with Canadian to Aussie dollar roughly 1:1, $735 is a good price (nobody beats birddog in Australia)

i purchased my 70-210 D from bh for about 180usd 2 years ago.
i can't believe its really worth more than the 80-200 2.8 s/h.

i find it a bit sluggy af to use and its quite heavy too abit more than the 24-120 vr i think.

Playing with it today at Birddog's, I found the AF extremely responsive.
