There was a bit of a discussion on the Lightroom 2.0 Beta forum yesterday about how Lightroom renders NEF files by default. They MAY be considering putting something in their like having it default to the JPEG representation: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/ ... erthread=y
