Help with Epson printing

Postby W00DY on Wed Apr 23, 2008 3:17 pm

Hi All,

So I went and bought the Epson R1900 and absolutely love it... the prints are just amazing.

However... When I use Epson Premium Semi Gloss Photo Paper the prints are a little on the dark side. I know I can just compensate for this by making the images lighter on the screen but I would prefer if there was another way so I just have the one file for web and print (this is in Lightroom).

I am printing out of Lightroom (but the same thing happens if I use Photoshop as well) and I am using the following settings:

Resolution - 300ppi
Sharpening - off
Colour Management
Profile - SPR1900 Epson Premium Semigloss
Rendering Intent - Perceptual (there is the option of Relative as well (?))

If i use Epson Utra Glossy Premium paper the prints are almost spot on, but I would rather use semi gloss (this is the closet to Lustre right?)

So any advise or help would be much appreciated. The prints are very useable the way they are coming out, they just lack a little brightness or saturation or something?

Cheers,
:D
